Anyone having audio issues with Samsung TV

Just bought a LN46A650 Samsung TV and immediately had problems with audio drop off (every so often the sound goes mute for a 1-2 seconds then comes back on). Samsung claims there have been no such issues reported with this model, although I've already read about some. Since then, our cable company gave us a new box and re-wired but the problem persists which makes me think the problem is with the actual TV.
See if you can set your sound to mono or at least change it. If there is reception problems coming from the cable box it can cause the drop outs.
What size of LCD tv will best suit my living room which is 3m X 6m. Planning to keep the tv on the 3m side.
